My current position is that of Conservation Technician. My responsibilities now include but are not limited to condition reporting all objects/costumes for the new costume gallery, making the mannequins for these costumes. I am also assisting on a large scale conservation project involving 8 dioramas, this includes all photography, disassembly, condition reporting, cleaning, and the rehousing of more than 700 objects.
April 2003 - August 2004: Chicago Historical Society, Chicago, IL
At this time I was responsible for carrying out conservation treatments for the objects and textiles relating to the upcoming exhibits: Alfredo & Rositta, Chicago History, and the Harold Washington. Conservation treatments included mounting a large portion of the 2-D and paper objects, building mannequins and constructing reproductions of costume objects.
October 2002 - April 2003: Chicago Historical Society, Chicago, IL
Worked as a paid intern on the History of Chicago Sports Exhibit. At this time I was responsible for the carrying out of conservation treatments on textiles and objects. I was also responsible for the mounting and condition reporting of both CHS collection items as well as loaned items. Conservation treatments included: consolidating leather objects, building mannequin forms, mounting paper objects, building soft mounts for 3-D objects, stabilizing and repairing costume pieces.
August 2002 - October 2002: Chicago Historical Society, Chicago, IL
Worked as a volunteer in the Objects and Textiles Conservation Lab. Projects included de-installing the Fort Dearborn Flag, de-installation the Fashion Flappers and all that Jazz , removing wax from the Hanks Chairs (XA-88) and repairing the conservation lining of Mary Todd-Lincoln's cape.
July 2002 - September 2002: Field Museum, Chicago, IL
Worked as a volunteer in the Textile Conservation Department. During which time I completed two projects, the stabilization of a Tibetan wool jacket and the stabilization of a Tibetan Thangka (painted silk banner).
August 2001 - April 2002: Museum Textiles Services, Haddam, CT
Full-time internship position at Gillette Castle State Park . I was hired to assist in the conservation and restoration of grass wall coverings dating from 1919. Responsibilities included cleaning, stabilization, the reconstruction of, and repairing of approximately 2,000 sq.ft. of woven and non-woven wall panels. Also the organization and development of a storage system for the objects was required.

- Attended 5 day workshop on painted manuscripts at the Newberry Library

- Attended a conservation training workshop at the Museo Nacional de Arqeologia, Antropologia e Historia Lima, Peru. This workshop focused on the weave structures used in Peruvian textiles as wall as hands-on training using objects from the museum's collection
- Lecturer at the 2002 Canadian Association for Conservation conference. Presented A paper titled: The Conservation and Restoration of Wall Coverings at Gillette Castle
